"If you want plexi tone without melting your face off, this is your amp. I still run it thru an Ironman II, but I have unique circumstances and need to play quietly. So versatile! So sweet! I sold my Friedman JJ jr after getting this amp. Love the high gain from the JJ jr but wanted more Plexi tones"

"When it arrived I immediately connected it to a green back loaded 4x12 and grabbed my Les Paul. Wow, it just screams plexi tone! I owned a 1987x, and this amp is damned near as loud. If your looking for a polite bedroom amp, this is not it. Be advised that you’ll need an attenuator if you want to rock out without waking the baby or scaring the wife. Hitting the front end with a clean boost makes glorious edge of break up cleans. With Stratocaster or Les Paul, I am not disappointed in any way. I have owned hardwired plexi clone amps, and am totally thrilled with this one."
