"I've tried several of the other BanTamP models (BlueJay, Jackman, Meteor) and this Atomic model is my favorite. All of them have the same clean channel, but this is my favorite for overdrive. Note I'm not a shredder, I just want to add some tube amp overdrive to my sound and you can dial it in very nicely with the Atomic.

I wish it had more than one tone control knob and an onboard reverb, but for the price it's great.

I've been removing them from the metal enclosure they come in and mounting them directly in other speaker enclosures (ones I've made or vintage combo amps where the original electronics are beyond repair). Very happy with the sound!"

"It has a great tube sound and is pedal friendly. I love that it has an effects loop too. I put my reverb and delay thru there and it sounds great! Great for recording and practicing at home. Not sure it's loud enough to gig out with a band that has a drummer unless there is a PA and they can mic the amp and give you some back in your monitor. I use a 1x12 cabinet with a Celestion 65."

"It does a lot of things, but didn't sound as good as the VOX MV-50 mini amps. The one thing that needs to be fixed is the "clean" sound of the amp, it doesn't really get that clean of a sound and the notes sound thin and very compressed. The distortion did OK, but if the distortion is your main goal, then I think the Orange Micro terror may be more to your liking. Happy amp hunting!"
