I'm very impressed with this acoustic combo amp. Sounds great with my electric too! Great job JOYO.
"I'm in Florida and because it's warm here 11 months of the year, almost all my gigs are outdoors. I'm also 72 so I look at lightweight equipment all the time, trying to find the ideal gigging gear that's easy to transport. This little guy weighs just 12.5 pounds.

It sounds amazing. It's a great little powerhouse. It does have a few serious drawbacks and oversights on JOYO's part, but it is so amazing, I can't even deduct a point for those shortcomings.

My Fender acoustasonic telecaster sounds awesome just plugged direct into the guitar channel. No surprise there. What is surprising, is how nice my electrics sound through this guy. I plug my guitars into a Boss Gigcaster 8 which has basically the Boss GT100 effects in it. It also has vocal effects and I setup the sound pads with drum patches and use it as a drum machine. The two together make an incredible gigging powerhouse.

    What are the shortcomings?

One, the drum machine has no digital readout or pointer to indicate where the dial is set. It makes it difficult to select the drum patch you want.

Secondly, you need to set the bpm by pressing the tempo button. It makes it nearly impossible to start clean with the drum beat at the desired bpm. If they had the ability to save at minimum 4 tempos and recall them with a single button press it would be great. It would also be nice to turn the drum machine on or off with a footswitch, but there is no capability for that. For this reason, I use the Gigcaster 8 as my drum machine, rather than the one built into the BKS-40.

Lastly, the Amazon ad for this amp states that you get up to 6 hours of battery time on a full charge. The manual say 3 hours. I honestly don't know yet which is correct, but I'm hoping it's closer to the 6 hour mark as most of my gigs are 3 hours and I'd like to have some extra cushion in the time. I know soon which it is and then I'll update my review.

All in all this is an awesome sounding amp/PA unit and I'm glad I purchased it. Like I said, I'm so happy with it that I'm willing to live with the shortcomings."
