Fender GB Twin Reverb Guitar Amplifier

What people may like to know is the weight is more then 21lbs as per the description.
"I love the amp the only thing I didn't like is in the description it states the weight is 21 lbs. What is should say is the amp wt. 13 lbs. lighter then the original Twin. This is my third amp of its kind but I truly was looking forward to the 21 lbs. No problem its still one of the best amps in the world. Thank Fender."

"I picked up one of these George Benson Twins at a local music shop for a good price as I've always wanted to own a Twin Reverb. After playing it in the store, I wasn't quite sure what changes they made for the GB signature model but it still sounded fantastic so I went ahead and bought it. After doing some more research and playing a few gigs with it, here are my takeaways.

This amp uses a 12AY7 preamp tube for channel 1 but the vibrato channel is unchanged from a regular 65 Twin reissue. This is actually fantastic for someone like me because I can plug into channel 1 at smaller venues and when playing at home and still get good clean fender tone without rattling the windows, but also channel 1 makes an even better pedal platform than the standard twin due to it's even more massive headroom without distorting. You can basically crank it up all the way on channel one and still have a completely clean tone. This makes it more versatile than a regular Twin in my opinion, but you still have the standard Twin sound everyone knows and loves when playing through the vibrato channel. You still get the standard low impedance and high impedance inputs on both channels which helps if you like to switch between a single coil guitar and something with higher output humbuckers.

The grey tolex looks fantastic in my opinion and the weight they were able to shave off of this amp is quite noticeable, however it does come at a slight cost. The Jensen Tornado speakers they put in this amp are great for jazzy cleans, but don't quite give you that chimey classic fender tone. They're relatively close and don't sound bad by any means, but they just miss the mark slightly in my opinion. For some people, this sacrifice is worth the weight savings, but others may find it desirable to go with another speaker option to really bring this amp to life. The Jensen Tornados are quality speakers and should be able to fetch a fair price on the used market which could be used to put towards whatever speakers you wish to replace them with, but if you're not one to bother with this kind of thing then a standard Twin may be the better option for you.

All in all, it's a great amp with a few interesting twists on a standard twin reverb that might be exactly what you're looking for, or at least close enough if the price is right and you are the tinkering type. It really does look great though."
