Danelectro N10B Honey Tone Mini Amp in Burgundy

    It's prone to feedback w a mic
"First off I looks nice and the enclosed battery is pretty classy.
I bought it for hip mounted harmonica playing w a mic.
As long as the drive is kept lower than the volume and the mic isn't in front of the speaker it's adequate."
Louder than it looks and certainly smaller than you'd think possible, but does not contain any actual Honey.
"tiny little baby amp, makes a significant sound. very portable, I use it on my workbench where I work on my guitars to test out things I'm trying out.
it has a good tone and really can't be beat for the price.
    The only bad things are
    1. its so light, it wants to move around with your guitar cord, unless you velcro it to something solid.
    2. it does cutout if the input signal is too loud, I'm told it only does this under battery power. I haven't tried it with a 9v adapter.

if you can afford it and have the room, the Roland Boss MicroCube is a splendid alternative, but at 3x the price used and 6 times the price new, The MicroCube is a more expensive and larger amp (approx 12x12x10 from my memory) but it provides a lot more types of tones and effects.

I own both, but I like the Honeytone, cause it will fit in a guitar case or bag, which of course the MicroCube won't - though both run on batteries or a dc adapter.

You can't build an amp like this Honeytone from scratch for less than they charge for one already built, it is a great deal, that has a nice tone and works well in small spaces and quiet places. I'd give it 5 stars if they could fix the cutout on loud input problem, but its not that big a deal to ramp down the volume knob on my guitar, just annoying when it cuts out while you are strumming hard. The Roland doesn't exhibit this problem,
so I'm quite sure a bit of circuitry redesign could take care of this.or maybe a DI box with a 20 db pad.

It sounds good on a mag pickup or a piezo, or both and it gets loud enough to be annoying in my basement. I like it and would buy another should this one disappear or reach an early demise. It should be available in MetalFlake Blue. Something that sounds this nice should stand
    out more....."
    Completely useless
"This worked as advertised. The sound quality is abysmal - complete fail. One might reasonably ask, 'hey you paid $30 for it, what did you expect?' My answer is simple - something useable. That's all. The sound is not only low quality but its actually unpleasant. I would rather play the guitar unplugged. And to be fair I do have 2 other practice amps which are a bit older and just a bit bigger and sound like reasonable practice amps - not great - but they don't actually hurt your ears like this tinny, pokey, shrill piece of junk. Spend a bit more and get the Blackstar Fly 3 Mini - its sooooo much better."
