Who said a solid state head unit can't compete with a tube amp?
"I replaced a solid state Marshall head unit that had some limited effects with this unit and the difference is incredible. The Marshall head unit made a lot of noise and just never sounded very good. I was going to get a Marshall tube head unit for twice the price but stumbled across this. I am already a big Roland fan having a Roland digital piano so I took a chance. I am currently playing it through a Marshall 4x12 cab, mostly with a Gibson Les Paul Studio, and it sounds amazing. I have 2 Boss Waza 2x12 cabs and the foot switch en route so we shall see how those sound. I have barely scratched the surface on the sounds this amp is capable of producing. The possibilities are almost endless. If I had gone with a tube amp, I would have paid a lot more and still needed to acquire a whole fleet of effects gadgets to produce the same sounds."
