Blackstar 40W Digital Stereo Combo (IDCORE40V2)

    Great sound; great value
"I imagine that there are purists out there that might find fault with this amp, since it's not "old school" enough (no solid state, no tubes, no individual pedals, etc), but I'm very impressed by its sound quality, functionality, build, and value. First, it's simple to use, and to my ears, makes my guitar sound as big and mean as a junkyard dog or as well-behaved as a fox terrier with just a few taps of buttons and twirls of knobs. It's perfect for my bedroom, and I imagine, could work nicely in an intimate venue. I like having a single device that does it all: it's an amp and a multi-effects pedal that I can plug my iPad into and play along with whatever I'm listening to, and when I need to wear headphones, this amp processes the signal to give the audio presence like it's playing through speakers. It also suppresses noise, so if there's a slight line buzz from your instrument, you won't hear it. Lastly, it's built to last. Two weeks after I bought it, I jumped up to answer the phone, and tripped so hard on a cable that I bent the headphone mini jack to a 45 degree angle. But the amp was completely undamaged. I bought a new mini jack for my headphones and I was good to go. If you're a beginner, this amp is a no-brainer, as it's a great value that sounds great and does everything you need done to the output of your guitar, but I imagine that seasoned players will enjoy this amp as well."
My first amp and am happy.
"So I decided to pick up a new hobby, learning the guitar. I don't have experience with other amps so take my review lightly. This amp (40W) is surprisingly light, which is good. And I love the sound, it's loud and will fill , with quite a few effects that I'm still experimenting with.

I did have a problem with their Insider software (It really needs an update, and who the heck uses Silverlight any more). But turned on "Compatibility mode" for the program solved it freezing while loading patches.

Note: the Presonus Studio One Blackstar Edition DAW Software is no longer available. But you can still download Stuido One and get the ASIO4ALL Driver to record."
    Power Supply please...and thank you.
"It came with the wrong power supply. It had a three prong 120v plug instead of the 10v 3A plug it needed. I called Amazon and they sent the right power supply for free. Once I got the power supply and could plug in, I was blown away. With one amp I sat down and played Ghost, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd with very close guitar "voice" matches and no pedals or chords to mess with. The wide stereo is just that. The soft touch plastic case and reinforced corner's are a nice touch for a practice amp. Its not heavy and the handles a nice touch. If this had come with the right power supply, I'd given this a five star rating."
